Daughters of Jerusalem, my lovely Shulamites,
Come hide within my loving arms,
For onward comes the night.
Daughters of Jerusalem, you are my pure delight.
Listen, I'm whispering {calling} to you.
I'm waiting at the lattice door; open and let me in.
For I am nourished with thine eyes, all glorious within.
Put on the strength of Zion, Our reign will soon begin.
O listen, I'm whispering to you.
Daughters of Jerusalem, my bride, my lily queen,
I'm drawn to you, run after me,
The pastures now are green.
Daughters of Jerusalem, it is the time to dream.
O listen, I'm whispering to you.
I see the chain of gold, my love, upon thy neck so fair,
And all the nations soon shall see thy beauty, oh so rare.
My kingdom I'll divide, my love,
With thee my love I'll share.
Listen, I'm whispering to you.
Daughters of Jerusalem, my fairest in array,
Come lay upon my bosom, where the one disciple lay.
Daughters of Jerusalem, it is the close of day.
Listen, I'm whispering to you.
I sent the Holy Ghost and fire to gather into one
My virgin pure and undefiled, my Father's will be done.
You must run the race, my love, until the race is won.
Listen, I'm whispering to you.
Whispering to you, O listen, I'm calling to you, my love.
Calling to you, O listen, I'm whispering to you.
